Australia

June 13th 2009.

Finally me and my sister arrived Canberra. Canberra is the capital in Australia and my first look on the town is very good. The clock is about ten now, and me and my sister is relaxing on the hotel room. We’re going to stay in here in Australia for two days and tomorrow we’re going to visit some museums and have sightseeing in Canberra. At the bus from the airport I read some facts about Canberra. The city is the seventh largest city, and it lives about 330 000 habitants here. I think it’s nice that the town isn’t so big. It’s easier for me to get a view of how the city is. But it’s late now, so good night!

Today has been very exciting. I woke up at eight o clock and ate breakfast. Then we took the bus into the centre of the town. We got on a sightseeing bus, and it gave us a nice view of the town. The town wasn’t so big. Canberra was nice to travel in and it was very lucid. After the bus trip we ate some lunch at a very expensive restaurant. I think I paid 30 dollars for some hot dog and chips! Then we went and visited some museums. The first one was a war memorial museum. I learn so much about the history of Australia and the people at the museum was very friendly to us. Our plan was to visit a national gallery of Australia, but we were so tired so we sat down in a park just outside our hotel. Canberra is actually well known because of their “green environment”. There are green spaces everywhere! Now I’m at the hotel room and I will soon go out to eat. See you later!

When I woke up this morning I was very tired in my legs of all the sightseeing yesterday. Therefore me and my sister decided to take an easy day out on the beach. We took a bus out to a big beach. It was very hot today, I think it was about 30 degrees so I enjoyed spending the day on the beach. We also tried surfing, but we found out that we are too Norwegian because surfing was very difficult! I think we stick to something we know. Skiing for example! Around 16.00 we had to leave because tomorrow we suppose to travel to Canada! Now I’m at the hotel room and I have to pack my things and get a good night sleep. So hopefully I see you tomorrow in Canada!

Canada

June 17th 2009

I forgot to write something yesterday, I was too busy with the journey from Canberra to Canada. But now we have arrived Canada which are the second biggest country in the world. We are staying in Calgary and we are living to our ant. Calgary is known for its high mountains and beautiful nature. They are also known for their winter sports and in 1988 they arranged the Olympic Games. Today we have done very much. In the morning we ate a delicious breakfast that my aunt made. Then we went on a road trip with our uncle to see some places that they used during the Olympic Games in 1988. Then we packed some things and went to a small lake up in the mountain. Me and my uncle sat fishing all day and we just got home. But no I’m very tired so I go to sleep now, see you tomorrow!

As usual I woke up very early and ate some of aunt’s delicious breakfast. Then me and my sister decided to go to a festival in town tonight. The weather is nice at the moment so a festival would be great! We decided to visit the “sled island” festival. That’s a music and art festival and we saw the band “Liars” which is an American punk band. They were pretty good I think. We spent all the evening at the festival. We came home around 24.00 so now it’s time to find bed. Good night!

Now it’s time for us to leave Calgary. Our days here have been wonderful. The weather, the nature, the town, the festival. Everything has been great! Our taxi arrives soon and we are going to the airport. Our next travel will go to Africa and Nigeria. I’m looking forward to that! So see you then.

Nigeria

June 20th 2009

We have just arrived our hotel in Lagos. And we have use 30 hours travelling because the plain was in Paris before it could go to Lagos. I’ve read some facts about Nigeria and I found at that Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with 141 million habitants! I also read that their language is English and it has once been a British colony. Now I’m going to bed and I look forward to look around in Lagos tomorrow J

June 21 2009

When I woke up I heard the sound of rain dripping out on the road. That’s because it’s rain season in Nigeria now. The temperatures are fine, but I don’t like the rain. Our plans for today were just to go around in Lagos. The first thing that hit us was all the people. It was people everywhere! They sang, danced and were happy. It was very interesting for us Norwegians because we don’t see this kind of culture in Norway. After we had eaten lunch at a small cafe we took the boat out to the central mosque at the Lagos Islands. That was a nice mosque and the rain had stopped so it was nice out at the island. Now I’m soon going to bed, we just got home so it has been a long day. Tomorrow we travel to the capital, Abuja, to meet our parents. Good night!

June 22 2009

We arrived Abuja around 3 o’clock. We met our parents at a hotel down in the centre of the town. They have been there for a week so they would show us some of the town. My dad and I are football enthusiasts so we went to Abuja stadium. That’s a very big stadium where it can be played football and there’s also a field for athletics. Then out on the evening we went to see the Nigerian Presidential Complex. It’s the state house where the president in Nigeria lives. Tomorrow we are leaving and we travel back to Norway and Trondheim. It has been exiting travel like this. I’ve been around the world at only nine days! See you later.
